I’ve been using this same process for over 8 years now, and I'm able to consistently deliver on-time and on-budget sites that my clients love.
Something that I've learned is that it doesn’t matter how much experience you have or how many certifications you hold — if you don’t know what you’re doing, you could waste months (or even years) trying to build a website that doesn’t convert visitors into leads or customers. You're already paying for the domain (aka the URL name), hosting (where your website lives aka the platform) and more so let's get your website generating money for you.
I take the guesswork out of creating a successful website. My customers get leads, sales and conversions. How do I know? Because I've already done it for hundreds of businesses just like yours.
Here's the 5-step process I use to get my website up and running in 4 weeks or less!
1. START
All projects start off with a clarity call together to uncover your specific needs and goals. Once we've agreed on the scope of work, a project proposal will be provided along with a contract detailing our agreement. To secure your project, I’ll require a signed contract and deposit. Once those are in place, I'll get started on your project!
My role is to make sure the project stays on track, so we'll do a kickoff call where I'll explain how we're going to work together, check in on the project status, and ensure we're both clear on our roles over the next few weeks together. I also love using Asana for all the project management to keep you clear from your inbox and to have a 1-stop platform for all your files, reminders for upcoming tasks, and more.
2. PLANNING AND RESEARCH
Our consultation together at kick-off was super integral to get on the same page despite if you have the right design vocabulary or not. Come as you are and we will clarify your vision together. In this stage, we talk about what you want your website to accomplish and how you want it to look. Researching competitors and your industry helps me put together a plan for designing something that will stand out from the crowd. We'll also talk about what features are most important in your project so we can build them into our timeline.
3. DESIGN
This stage is where the big ideas and insights come to life. I will provide options that best align with your creative vision. You will get engaging graphics that will help connect with the people most important to you.
I will create a website that is beautiful, informative and easy to use, ensuring it is well-organized, responsive, mobile-friendly and search engine optimized so your site can be found by your clients when they are searching on Google or other search engines.
By using primarily Squarespace (as a SS Circle expert), Shopify, or Wix as the foundation of my websites, I am able to build websites quickly and efficiently while keeping them easy for you to maintain over time. This means that you won’t have to pay a massive amount of money every time you want to make a change or add something new to your website down the road – which is one of my favourite things about building websites with these platforms!
4. EDIT
After the first draft is completed, I will send it to you for your review. This is a very important stage and where you will have the opportunity to make changes. We can also meet live virtually to walk through your feedback.
You will receive two rounds of revisions included in your project scope. This means that if you're not satisfied with the results after round two, we can discuss additional revisions (at an additional rate) until we reach a point where both of us are happy with the final result.
This stage is where you'll get to choose the creative aspects that you love most. I will then refine based on your feedback as we work towards a final approval.
5. DELIVER
This is where you get to see your design in all its glory. This stage is where all the pieces come together. I will provide a downloadable link. You will get access to all of your stunning files that we have created together for your website.
You can now go ahead and publish your new website! Congratulations. You’ll have full ownership of the website and all the admin to sync your domain taken care of. But it doesn't stop here.
I will also provide a step-by-step empowerment tutorial on how to edit your website so you can feel comfortable and confident maintaining content moving forward. This method allows you to update your own website without having to hire an expensive developer or designer all the time; saving you time and marketing spend for the future.
6. SHOW OFF I'm so proud of you! You're at the end of your journey and ready to launch your website. I am here to help you achieve your online goals and milestones.
