From fragmented messaging to bilingual, trauma-informed digital platform.

VESTA Social Innovation Technologies is a trauma-informed nonprofit organization advancing education, empowerment, and systemic change around gender-based violence. Resilience in Action is an initiative to help newcomer organizations in Canada respond to gender-based violence with more confidence and capacity, and make it easier for newcomer women to report incidents and get help. Their program support diverse communities, including immigrant, refugee, and non-status women. Before working together, they needed a stronger, more cohesive digital presence — including clearer website copy, improved UX, and a microsite experience that could communicate their mission with care while serving both English and French audiences and partner stakeholders.

the challenge?

They required more than a visual redesign. The challenge was translating sensitive, values-driven work into accessible, culturally relevant, and emotionally safe website copy and user experience. Messaging needed to be clear, partner-ready, and survivor-centered, while also meeting bilingual expectations and technical requirements. Accuracy, tone, and accessibility were critical, and the margin for misalignment was small.
